provides functionalities about Internationalized Domain Name
processing standardized at IETF. Major features that idnkit provides
are as follows.

    * libidnkit
      Core library for IDN processing.
    * libidnkitlite
      Light Weight library for IDN processing. (UTF-8 only)
    * idnconv
      DNS zone / configuration file encoding converter.
    * runidn / idn wrapper
      Dynamic link resolver library for UNIX / Windows.
    * BIND 9 patch

v. 1.13
date: 2007/02/01 02:41:35; author: kris; state: Exp; lines: +1 -0
Use libtool port instead of included version to avoid objformat a.out botch

v. 1.12 date: 2006/08/14 23:06:27; author: clsung; state: Exp; lines: +1 -1 - s,INSTALLS_SHLIB,USE_LDCONFIG,g - these include dns/ editors/ emulators/ finance/ games/ graphics/ maintained by ports@ PR: ports/101916 Submitted by: Gea-Suan Lin
v. 1.11 date: 2006/05/04 21:41:12; author: edwin; state: Exp; lines: +0 -1 Remove USE_REINPLACE from all categories starting with D
v. 1.10 date: 2006/02/23 10:36:21; author: ade; state: Exp; lines: +6 -2 Conversion to a single libtool environment. Approved by: portmgr (kris)
v. 1.9 date: 2005/11/25 00:46:42; author: edwin; state: Exp; lines: +2 -1 dns/idnkit: runidn does nothing nstallbug + non-function libidnkutres.la doesn't get installed. "Have you installed idnkit? I cannot find libidnkitres.la." When it is copied into /usr/local/lib, the errormessage disappears, but there is no function. At least by making it run, there is a chance that somebody will fix it.
v. 1.8 date: 2005/11/15 06:49:06; author: ade; state: Exp; lines: +1 -1 Mass-conversion to the USE_AUTOTOOLS New World Order. The code present in bsd.autotools.mk essentially makes this a no-op given that all the old variables set a USE_AUTOTOOLS_COMPAT variable, which is parsed in exactly the same way as USE_AUTOTOOLS itself. Moreover, USE_AUTOTOOLS has already been extensively tested by the GNOME team -- all GNOME 2.12.x ports use it. Preliminary documentation can be found at: http://people.FreeBSD.org/~ade/autotools.txt which is in the process of being SGMLized before introduction into the Porters Handbook. Light blue touch-paper. Run.
v. 1.7 date: 2005/11/11 01:17:32; author: linimon; state: Exp; lines: +1 -1 With portmgr hat on, reset maintainership of knu's ports since he has been inactive more than 6 months. We hope to see him back sometime.
v. 1.6 date: 2004/07/09 17:42:21; author: marcus; state: Exp; lines: +1 -1 Apply a big libtool patch to allow porters to use the libtool installed by the libtoolX ports instead of the one included with each port. Ports that set USE_LIBTOOL_VER=X will now use the ports version of libtool instead of the included version. To restore previous behavior, use the new macro, USE_INC_LIBTOOL_VER. Both macros accept the same argument: a libtool version. For example, to use the ports version of libtool-1.5, add the following to your Makefile: USE_LIBTOOL_VER= 15 To use the included version of libtool with extra hacks provided by libtool-1.5, add the following to your Makefile: USE_INC_LIBTOOL_VER= 15 With this change, ports that had to add additional libtool hacks to prevent .la files from being installed or to fix certain threading issues can now delete those hacks (after appropriate testing, of course). PR: 63944 Based on work by:eik and marcus Approved by: ade (autotools maintainer) Tested by: kris on pointyhat Bound to be hidden problems: You bet
v. 1.5 date: 2004/03/30 19:20:16; author: krion; state: Exp; lines: +1 -2 - Use USE_ICONV knob Approved by: portmgr
v. 1.4 date: 2004/03/14 06:16:27; author: ade; state: Exp; lines: +1 -1 Whoa there, boy, that's a mighty big commit y'all have there... Begin autotools sanitization sequence by requiring ports to explicitly specify which version of {libtool,autoconf,automake} they need, erasing the concept of a "system default". For ports-in-waiting: USE_LIBTOOL=YES -> USE_LIBTOOL_VER=13 USE_AUTOCONF=YES -> USE_AUTOCONF_VER=213 USE_AUTOMAKE=YES -> USE_AUTOMAKE_VER=14 Ports attempting to use the old style system after June 1st 2004 will be sorely disappointed.
v. 1.3 date: 2003/12/17 15:32:28; author: knu; state: Exp; lines: +3 -1 Add --enable-extra-ace to CONFIGURE_ARGS, which option is required by VeriSign's IDN Testbed. Submitted by: nectar
