FreeBSD comms : qpage

SNPP client/server for sending messages to an alphanumeric pager

QuickPage sends messages to a paging terminal using the SNPP and IXO
(also known as TAP) protocols. It is normally used with no options
other than a recipient and the message text, in which case the message
is sent to the SNPP server where it is submitted to a page queue to be
sent by a separate daemon process.

Page groups and duty schedules are supported. Status notification
messages indicating the success or failure of a page are sent via
e-mail to submitters of high-priority (level 0) pages.

v. 1.25
date: 2006/05/03 23:38:37; author: edwin; state: Exp; lines: +0 -1
remove USE_REINPLACE for all ports with categories starting with C

v. 1.24 date: 2004/10/28 22:03:27; author: pav; state: Exp; lines: +1 -1 The qpage port will run words together in long pages. The problem is in msgcpy in util.c, where the breaks don't preserve word boundries. PR: ports/73020 Submitted by: Douglas K. Rand
v. 1.23 date: 2004/05/17 22:08:09; author: thierry; state: Exp; lines: +4 -1 - make it run by the user uucp; - since I'm there, create the spool directory for a port installation. PR: ports/62617 Submitted by: Mike Andrews
v. 1.22 date: 2004/01/10 08:48:29; author: edwin; state: Exp; lines: +8 -0 Nitpicks for the comms/qpage port The comms/qpage port has a few minor problems. A default installation gives the following errors when the /usr/local/etc/rc.d/qpage.sh script is execute: qpage[68438]: cannot open /etc/qpage.cf: No such file or directory qpage[68438]: cannot access LockDir(/var/spool/lock): Permission denied qpage[68438]: cannot access QueueDir(/var/spool/qpage): No such file or directory qpage[68438]: cannot chdir to QueueDir(/var/spool/qpage): No such file or directory In short: 1) qpage looks for its configuration file in /etc instead of /usr/local/etc 2) It setuid()'s to a user (daemon) without permission to access /var/spool/lock but does not document this anywhere outside of the source. 3) It's queue directory is not created by installing the port. PR: ports/48059 Submitted by: Kirk Strauser

v. 1.16 date: 2000/08/08 03:11:55; author: steve; state: Exp; lines: +2 -2 Add a missing ';' so this port builds/installs cleanly.
v. 1.15 date: 2000/07/05 12:36:20; author: tg; state: Exp; lines: +3 -4 As threatened on freebsd-ports: all startup scripts know about the two options `start' and `stop' now (unless I have forgotten any). This allows us to call the scripts from /etc/rc.shutdown with the correct option. The (42 or so) ports that already DTRT before are unchanged.
v. 1.14 date: 2000/06/22 19:15:30; author: fenner; state: Exp; lines: +3 -2 Move local distfiles to ${MASTER_SITE_LOCAL}/fenner .

v. 1.7 date: 1998/10/27 03:45:02; author: fenner; state: Exp; lines: +3 -4 Un-break: the MASTER_SITE returned extra bytes when servicing an HTTP/1.1 request. Moved distfile to www.freebsd.org/~fenner/ temporarily. Left original MASTER_SITE commented out - newer fetch fetches the distfile properly, and server administrator is working on the problem, so will probably be able to be moved back soon.
