v. 1.17
date: 2007/10/24 23:34:59; author: marcus; state: Exp; lines: +1 -4
Presenting GNOME 2.20.1 and all related works for FreeBSD. The official
GNOME 2.20 release notes can be found at
http://www.gnome.org/start/2.20/notes/en/ . Beyond that, this update
includes the new GIMP 2.4 (courtesy of ahze).

The GNOME 2.20 update also includes a huge change in the FreeBSD GNOME
hierarchy. We are now using the more standard DATADIR of ${PREFIX}/share
rather than ${PREFIX}/share/gnome. The result is that fewer patches and
hacks are needed to port GNOME components to FreeBSD. This will mean some
user changes may be required, so be sure to read /usr/ports/UPDATING for
more details.

This release and the things we accomplished in it would not have been
possible without mezz's crazy idea to collapse DATADIR, and his persistence
to make it happen successfully. Ahze and pav also deserve thanks for
their work on porting modules and testing the whole ball of wax on
pointyhat (respectively).

The FreeBSD GNOME team would also like to thank our various testers and
contributors:

Yasuda Keisuke
Frank Jahnke
Pawel Worach
Brian Gruber
Franz Klammer
Yuri Pankov
Nick Barkas
Cristian KLEIN
Tony Maher
Scot Hetzel
Martin Matuska (mm)
Benoit Dejean
Martin Wilke (miwi)
(And anyone else I may have missed)

PRs fixed in this release:

v. 1.16 date: 2007/05/19 20:00:52; author: flz; state: Exp; lines: +1 -1 - Welcome X.org 7.2 \o/. - Set X11BASE to ${LOCALBASE} for recent ${OSVERSION}. - Bump PORTREVISION for ports intalling files in ${X11BASE}.
v. 1.15 date: 2006/05/28 13:24:04; author: pav; state: Exp; lines: +1 -1 - Rename port print/gnomeprint -> print/gnome-print
v. 1.14 date: 2006/05/03 23:38:35; author: edwin; state: Exp; lines: +0 -1 remove USE_REINPLACE for all ports with categories starting with C
v. 1.13 date: 2006/02/23 10:34:56; author: ade; state: Exp; lines: +1 -1 Conversion to a single libtool environment. Approved by: portmgr (kris)
v. 1.12 date: 2005/11/15 06:48:13; author: ade; state: Exp; lines: +1 -1 Mass-conversion to the USE_AUTOTOOLS New World Order. The code present in bsd.autotools.mk essentially makes this a no-op given that all the old variables set a USE_AUTOTOOLS_COMPAT variable, which is parsed in exactly the same way as USE_AUTOTOOLS itself. Moreover, USE_AUTOTOOLS has already been extensively tested by the GNOME team -- all GNOME 2.12.x ports use it. Preliminary documentation can be found at: http://people.FreeBSD.org/~ade/autotools.txt which is in the process of being SGMLized before introduction into the Porters Handbook. Light blue touch-paper. Run.
v. 1.11 date: 2004/12/08 23:35:16; author: pav; state: Exp; lines: +1 -7 - Fix build with gcc 3.4 PR: ports/74790 Submitted by: Dominik Brettnacher (maintainer)
v. 1.10 date: 2004/09/18 17:26:24; author: kris; state: Exp; lines: +7 -1 BROKEN on 5.x: Does not compile Approved by: portmgr (self)
v. 1.9 date: 2004/03/14 06:16:05; author: ade; state: Exp; lines: +1 -1 Whoa there, boy, that's a mighty big commit y'all have there... Begin autotools sanitization sequence by requiring ports to explicitly specify which version of {libtool, autoconf, automake} they need, erasing the concept of a "system default". For ports-in-waiting: USE_LIBTOOL=YES -> USE_LIBTOOL_VER=13 USE_AUTOCONF=YES -> USE_AUTOCONF_VER=213 USE_AUTOMAKE=YES -> USE_AUTOMAKE_VER=14 Ports attempting to use the old style system after June 1st 2004 will be sorely disappointed.
v. 1.8 date: 2004/02/04 05:18:57; author: marcus; state: Exp; lines: +1 -1 Bump PORTREVISION on all ports that depend on gettext to aid with upgrading. (Part 2)
v. 1.7 date: 2003/11/15 20:07:28; author: marcus; state: Exp; lines: +6 -5 unPERLify by using REINPLACE_CMD where appropriate. PR: 47656 Submitted by: Simon 'portlint' Schubert
v. 1.6 date: 2003/11/13 14:44:58; author: trevor; state: Exp; lines: +1 -1 Use the FIND and XARGS macros introduced in bsd.port.mk 1.391.
v. 1.5 date: 2003/06/26 22:58:22; author: ade; state: Exp; lines: +1 -1 libtool uber-patch * kill devel/libtool and move to devel/libtool13, upgrading to 1.3.5 * upgrade repo-copied devel/libtool14 to 1.4.3 * break out libltdl into its own separate port * move to version-numbered binaries/scripts (ie: there is *no* 'libtool' any more -- USE_LIBTOOL and USE_LIBTOOL_VER are your friends) Approved by: portmgr (kris) - for the bsd.port.mk hooks Tested by: bento 4-exp builds (repeatedly)
v. 1.4 date: 2003/02/21 11:07:03; author: knu; state: Exp; lines: +1 -0 De-pkg-comment.
v. 1.3 date: 2002/05/13 12:06:46; author: sobomax; state: Exp; lines: +10 -1 GNOME policy: - Fix libintl detection; - properly use ${PREFIX}/share/gnome.
v. 1.2 date: 2002/04/07 20:56:39; author: pat; state: Exp; lines: +2 -1 Chase gnomeprint shared library version bump and bump PORTREVISION as well. PR: 36840 Submitted by: maintainer
v. 1.1 date: 2001/09/16 17:35:57; author: kevlo; state: Exp; Initial import of ghfaxviewer-0.22. ghfaxviewer is the fax viewer. PR: 30470 Submitted by: Dominik Brettnacher =============================================================================
